Village Hall Climate Action

Working in collaboration with DeMontfort University, as a case study for a research project for community buildings and climate change, the Village Hall Committee approved it's Climate Action Plan in June 2022, with the document being reviewed annually.

The Climate Emergency Action Plan demonstrates East Goscote Village Hall's commitment to taking action to reduce carbon emissions and helping to prevent dangerous climate change; taking notable actions to achieve this:

  • An Energy Audit of the building was commissioned in July 2023 and shows a rating of 41 B, which is above average (100 D).

  • Carbon Literacy Training was undertaken by the Village Hall Manager in February 2025.

  • The need for an Environmental Policy was highlighted, with this being approved in March 2025.

  • In 2026, thanks to local government funding, the Village Hall installed an electric vehicle charging point.
